How to Use our Bug Repellent

Fast-acting, plant-powered ingredients

Picaridin, a compound bioidentical to those found in long black pepper plants (1-Methylpropyl-2-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1piperidine carboxylate), is the active ingredient used in our spray. It works to repel mosquitoes, ticks, gnats and other pests by producing a smell that’s offensive to insects but odorless to people. Picaridin insect repellents provide an alternative to those that use DEET.

General Application

Shake well before use. Hold the spray bottle 4-6 inches from skin and spray on exposed skin, keeping the nozzle pointed away from your face, and avoiding contact with eyes and mouth. Apply sparingly around ears. Apply before sunscreen.

Slightly moisten your skin with a slow sweeping motion. Do not exceed 2 applications per day. The formula is water-resistant, non-flammable, and won’t leave a sticky residue on your skin.

Do not spray directly on the face. Avoid contact with lips, cuts, wounds, or irritated skin. Do not apply excessively to sunburned skin or underneath clothing.

Applying Stay Away® Mosquitoes to Your Face

Spray a small amount in the palms of your hands, spreading on face and neck. Avoid contact with eyes. Do not spray directly on face.

Applying Stay Away® Mosquitoes on Children

Spray a small amount in the palms of your hands, then apply on a child. Do not spray directly on their face, avoid their mouth and eyes, and apply sparingly around ears. Do not allow children to handle the product.
